This month, October of 2018, New Life School completes its nineteenth year. A celebration was held earlier in the year so I, Judy, could attend before transitioning to Texas from where I continue as executive director and promote the school.

Alumni were invited and returned to celebrate with us. Many are over twenty-five years old. It was a family reunion with lots of laughing, hugging and sharing stories of the past.

Parents shared their hearts and memories

The building was full of parents as well as students. Many did not think an education would be possible for their sons and daughters. This couple has son who is deaf.

A TEXAS LINE DANCE

Our class for the deaf did a dance to a country western song. The words of the song and their teacher were in front of them. Two of the boys are not deaf to so the others could follow them. The young boy in the center is the son of the couple above.  Many of the visitors were surprised to learn the students were deaf due to their excellence and Texas attitude.

FIND US FAITHFUL

At my request the older students sang in Spanish the song “Find Us Faithful” by Steve Green.

THE CHORUS
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprint that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
